Hello everyone! It’s a hot one here in Upstate New York, with temperatures in the 90s and super high humidity. Are you experiencing the same thing? It’s like summer just burst out of nowhere and wrapped us in a sweaty hug. Yum :/ You’re welcome for the mental image.
Today’s post is a super simple one that I’ve been meaning to publish for a long time:
A straightforward list of all the acupuncture-specific practice management and marketing books I’ve ever come across, together in one place.
Even though I love scouring the internet for new information and marketing articles, sometimes there’s just nothing like holding a real, comprehensive book in your hands (or, okay, in your Kindle). I just love that feeling of a good, meaty, information-dense book and how much it’s going help me.
And this article is just in time, because coming up very soon I’ll be interviewing Lorne Brown, L.Ac., about his new acupuncture practice management book that he released earlier this year: Missing the Point: Why Acupuncturists Fail and What They Need to Know to Succeed. (See below.) I cannot wait to pick Lorne’s brain and share his tips with you. (Update: Read the interview with Lorne here.)

In no particular order:
1. Acupuncturists Mean Business by Katherine Altneu, L.Ac., MSOM
2. Missing the Point: Why Acupuncturists Fail and What They Need to Know to Succeed by Lorne Brown, Dr.TCM
3. Unstoppable: Strategies to Launch and Grow Your Holistic Practice by Michelle McGlade, L.Ac. (Check out my interview of Michelle McGlade here, where she shares her tips for getting more patients through referrals.)
4. Making Acupuncture Pay: Real World Advice for Successful Private Practice by Matthew Bauer, L.Ac.
5. The Practitioner’s Journey: The Path to Success for Alternative, Holistic, and Integrative Health Professionals by Dan Clements and Tara Gignac, ND
6. The Art of Practice Management for Acupuncture Health Care Practices (Acupuncture Practice Management Guide) by Cynthia Bestani, Neil Gumenick, L.Ac., and Dr. Peter Fernandez
7. The Ultimate Acupuncture Marketing Blueprint: Acupuncture Marketing Tips to Build a Six-Figure Practice in One Year by Kevin Doherty, L.Ac.
8. Points for Profit: The Essential Guide to Practice Success for Acupuncturists by Honora Wolfe, L.Ac.
9. The Oak Point Method: The A.R.T. of Treating Pain and Creating a Successful Practice by Dimitri Boules, L.Ac., founder of The Oak Point Method
(Grab your free chapter of The Oak Point Method here!)
And because I just love books and can’t stop collecting them, I feel compelled to share a few practice management books that aren’t acupuncture specific, but that I still found extremely relevant and dense with great tips and perspectives.
The one that comes to mind is Building Your Ideal Private Practice: A Guide for Therapists and Other Healing Professionals by Lynn Grodzki:
As well as the companion workbook, Twelve Months To Your Ideal Private Practice: A Workbook, also by Lynn Grodzki. Who doesn’t love a good workbook?!
Did I miss any? If you know of an acupuncture practice management or marketing book that I left out, send me an email at michelle@michellegrasek.com
Enjoy your new reading material!
