Welcome back, acupuncture friends!

It’s that time of year. This is my annual roundup of the five most popular articles I’ve published about acupuncture marketing and practice management.

The most viewed, most shared, most commented on, etc. This year they also happen to be the most thought-provoking ones, as I got tons of emails, questions and feedback about them.

Before we dive in – How were your holidays??

I hope you’re having a warm and cozy holiday season, wherever you are in the world.

I’m enjoying my first Christmas tree in my new house, and so is my cat 😻🎄 Fingers crossed that she doesn’t love it so much that she knocks it over!

Also, many thanks to Snapchat for dressing Tink up for the holidays! IRL, she will NEVER let me put a hat on her. Snapchat is the best (and funniest) alternative:

Okay, back on topic!

In case you missed them, check out the top five acupuncture marketing articles from previous years:

(Can you believe this is year #4 for this website? I can’t say thank you enough to you guys, my readers! Whether you’re a new reader, or you’ve been around since 2014, I appreciate you!)

And this year’s roundup wouldn’t be complete without a huge shout out to Brad Whisnant, acupuncturist, author, and teacher of Master Tung style acupuncture all around the world.

THREE of the five posts listed in the top five this year were inspired by Brad.

One is an interview about how he manages to see 100+ patients a week (!) and two are follow-ups to that interview where I discuss with 10 super-successful acupuncturists how often they treat patients.

After releasing Brad’s initial interview about pulling in 100+ patients a week, I got a ton of questions about how often patients need to be treated, and whether treatment frequency has a direct impact on an acupuncturist’s overall business success.

The answer was a resounding YES, by the way! So don’t miss those two very important follow-up articles.

Okay, enough talking from me! Let’s get into it:

The Top 5 Acupuncture Marketing Articles of 2017:

All the things I wish I'd known about running an acupuncture practice before I opened up shop back in 2010. Learn from my mistakes and get ready to crush this entrepreneurship thing ;) www.ModernAcu.com

#2: 100 Acupuncture Patients a Week with Brad Whisnant

100 Acupuncture Patients a Week - Marketing / Practice Management Interview with Expert Brad Whisnant, LAc. www.ModernAcu.com

Learn how Brad grew his practice to 100+ patients each week, and how he manages this many patients on his own (no associates!). Great advice on everything from marketing to treatment frequency.

#3: Treatment Frequency for a Successful Acupuncture Practice Part 1

Did you know that acupuncture can help manage chronic knee pain? Read this article for how acupuncturist Michelle Grasek in Rochester NY helps patients with knee pain.

Inspired by Brad’s post above, I asked 10 successful acupuncturists: How often do you treat your patients? Do you think treatment frequency plays a role in the success of your clinic? The answers were pretty consistent: they treat patients more often than you’d think, and YES, treatment frequency plays an important role!

This article covers the first five acupuncturists and comes with an awesome free download: a PDF summary of all 10 acupuncturists’ answers. So you can print it out as an easy reference!

Wondering how much money you need to start your acupuncture business? I'll tell you exactly how much it cost to start mine, down to the penny! www.modernacu.com

There you have it! The five most popular articles from michellegrasek.com this year.

Plus every year, I share a few extra articles that are educational and actionable.

They’re some of my personal favorites, even though they didn’t make it to the top five this year. But I think they’ll change the way you think about marketing.

(And if I’ve learned anything from my students this year, the way we think about marketing is half the battle!)

My personal top three from 2017:

1. Never Hate Marketing Your Acupuncture Practice Again with This One Tip

If you only read one marketing article that I’ve written in 2017, make sure it’s this one. This advice was given to me by both of my very wise marketing mentors back in the day, and it’s the reason this website exists right now. It’s also the foundation of the way I teach marketing; it changed everything for me.

2. 8 Non-Acupuncture Marketing Books Every Acupuncturist Should Read

Because there just aren’t that many acupuncturist-specific marketing books out there. And sometimes we need a wider perspective to understand why we’re told to do certain things in marketing. And most of these are really fun, refreshing reads!

3. Where Should You Focus Your Marketing Efforts? In Person or Online?

I make marketing super digestible in this one, if I do say so myself 😉 Plus I talk about the Yin and Yang of marketing your practice, AND I give you action steps at the end. Totally comprehensive!

That’s all for now, acupuncture friends!

I hope you crush it in 2018! …I’ve got some really exciting things coming down the pipeline to help you do just that. (Group coaching, maybe??) Stay tuned!

xo,

Michelle
